AUTHOR'S BIOGRAPHY

The Author

Adrian Freer was born and still lives in Leicestershire where he is now retired. He was educated at Loughborough Grammar School and Leicester College of Art & Technology (now De Montfort University).

He had a non-church upbringing and was a member of the Methodist Church before conversion.

After many years in the evangelical movement he settled under the ministry of the late Rev. Ashley F. B. Cheesman, rector of the Parish of Gaulby, Leicestershire from 1988 to 2010.

Under Mr. Cheesman’s leadership the Gaulby Parish of Anglican churches was one of the remaining Church of England parishes in the county of Leicestershire which still upheld the doctrines of the English Reformers, subscribed to the Thirty-Nine Articles of the Church of England and used the 1662 Book of Common Prayer.

Since the untimely death of Mr. Cheesman in 2010 the work of the Reformed Fellowship at Gaulby has continued and, despite the uncertainties, it looks to the Lord for the future.

Apart from church responsibilities, Adrian’s other interests include fly fishing and fly tying, music, foreign travel and writing. He is married with two daughters and four grandchildren.

He is the author of several books including Quiet Time for Christians: A Practical Guide to Daily Bible Reading and Prayer (Welford Court Press) and The Book of Benedictions (Welford Court Press).
