SERMON SERIES

 

The Gaulby Reformed Evangelical Anglican Fellowship holds two, four-week Sermon Series each year on a Sunday evening conducted by a visiting preacher.

 

In the past we have welcomed speakers such as Rev Robert Bashford (Daniel, Colossians 1-4 & Romans 8 & 12), Dr Jay Modha (Genesis 1-3) and Colin Densham (2 Timothy & Judges) amongst others.

AUTUMN 2019 SERMON SERIES
 
Speaker: Rev Robert Bashford (Barton Seagrave)
 
The series is a continuation of the Maundy Thursday events recorded in John's Gospel, which began with the sermon on John 13 back in March.
 
Although Robert will be working through the four chapters of John 14-17 over four Sunday evenings, his intention is not to tackle rigidly one chapter each evening.
 
The plan for the series is as follows:
 
  • 6th October: the passage to be preached on will in be John 13:31 - 14:24 (the series of questions from various disciples and Jesus' answers) - it will be simplest to label this sermon as "John 14."
 
  • 13th October: this will be a sermon on the four sections in chapters 14, 15 and 16, where Jesus gives teaching about the Holy Spirit.
 
  • 20th October: this is a sermon on the first half of John 15 and the second half of John 16.
 
  • 27th October: this is a sermon on John 17.
